Tournaments in Town

Tournaments run right here in the Tri-County area.  

Des Ananas – March 21, 2026 – “This is the friendly tournament you go to all year” – anonymous fencer from last years event.

Magnet Meet – April 11, 2026 – High school tournament for epee and foil fencers. Age is restricted to those in grades 9-12. Academic Magnet High School 5109 W Enterprise St, North Charleston, SC 29405.

The Pirate Olympics – TBD – 2026 – Charleston oldest running tournament. First tournament dates back to the scaly wag times of the 1990’s.

2nd On Point Spring Open – March 14, 2026 – Welcoming all our friends to join us for our On Point Spring Open. All events will be sanctioned with certified referees. Replay system in all finals! On Point Fencing Club CSD YMCA CHARLOTTE 5485 Charlotte Hwy, Clover, SC 29710.

South Carolina National Qualifier & Annual Division Meeting 2026 – April 18, 2026 – This is the official qualifier for Summer Nationals 2026. South Carolina Division Fencers in Y14, DIV2/DIV3/VET [combined] categories are encouraged to attend. Foothills Fencing Academy 1004 Piedmont Hwy, Piedmont, SC 29673. Please refer to USA Fencing’s Guide to Qualifying for the 2026 USA Fencing National Championships and July Challenge (Summer Nationals). Summer Nationals will be in Portland, Oregon June 27 – July 6, 2026.

Spring Fling 2026 – May 9-10, 2026 – This is our Spring tournament; Open and E-Under Epee, Open and E-Under Foil, and Youth Foil (Y10, Y12) and Youth Epee (Y12). Augusta Fencers Club464-B Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30904.

Regional and National Tournaments

Events run Regionally and Nationally with the intention to earn points that qualify you to compete in the Junior Olympics held in January and Summer Nationals held at the end of June and beginning of July.

Tournaments on USAFencing.org – This is where you search and sign up for regional and national tournaments. Make sure you have at least a competitive membership or you can’t sign up. SC is in Region 6 and while you can fence in any region, you can only earn points when it is held in region 6. Ex. Bob went to visit family in New York and decided to fence in a regional tournament. He won gold in his event but since NY is in Region 3 and not Region 6, he will not earn any points. He only earns experience!

Club Patches can’t be purchased; they must be earned. A patch will be awarded to those fencers who represent and compete in at least one tournament outside of the Tri-County area.
